Type locality of the holotype of Doumea alula: 'Stanleyville' (Ref. 41594, 88958). Known from Lower Congo (Ref. 41594, 88779), Kwango (Ref. 88958), Kasai (Ref. 11970, 80305, 88958), Uele (Ref. 41590, 41594, 42480, 88958), middle Congo (Ref. 88958, 106245), Itimbiri (Ref. 106290), Aruwimi (Ref. 41590, 41594, 88958, 106290), Stanley Falls [=Wagenia Falls] (Ref. 42480, 106245), Lualaba (Ref. 88958, 106245) and Lukuga River (up to Kisimba-Kilia rapids)Ref. 93587). Additonal records in MRAC collection from Itimbiri (Buta) and Leopoldville (=Kinshasa) (Ref. 12818). Also reported from Inga, Lower Congo (Ref. 42510), but these specimens refer to Congoglanis inga (Ref. 88958). Also Ref. 78218.
